How To Plan Your Day

How To Plan Your Day (Be More Productive)

How to plan your day?

The guy or gal that’s the most prepared wins. As Benjamin Franklin said, ”If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”

So today we’re going over on how to plan your day. By the end of this article, you will know how to plan your day, your productivity will increase, you will stop procrastinating, and you will achieve massive results.

Let’s dive in.

How to plan your day:

7 Habits of Highly Successful People

1) Define your goal and strategy

Without a target, there is no effective planning. Goal-setting is essential, and it should be the first thing you do.

You have to set goals, and then you have to strategize. By doing that you will stay focused and motivated, and your strategy will be your guideline to achieve those goals.

Goals have to be around four categories: health, wealth, relationships, and happiness.

For example,
Health – build muscle mass
Wealth – start investing in the commercial real estate
Relationships – get married
Happiness – travel more

After that, ask yourself, ”How can I do that? What are the options? Who can help me? Do I have resources? When can I do that? How quickly?” Do your research and make a strategy.

Each day you should plan for getting closer to your goals. For example, to build a muscle mass, you have to make sure you’re eating enough, and you’re working out three times per week. Maybe you need a trainer. Do you have a workout routine? Do you calculate your calories?

Simply ask questions and find out answers.

2) Habits

There is no change without a change in routine. To achieve your goals, you will have to change your old habits. Every month you should get rid of one old habit and replace it with a new one.

Write down your new habit and take action.

University College London did a study. On average, it takes 66 days before a new behavior becomes automatic. So don’t give up too early.

3) To-Do List

Throughout the day, jot down new tasks and assignments on your to-do list. You can use Evernote or notebook to do that.

Then each night, transfer your to-do list onto your calendar and set deadlines. For example, Monday 8 AM: Call John.

Once you have transferred your list onto your calendar, then record all tasks you will have time for tomorrow and prioritize them. Pick one to three most important tasks by asking yourself, ”Is it urgent? Does it really have to be done first?” And then label each task with its time.

4) In the mornings

7 Habits of Highly Successful People

Each morning check out your calendar to see what you should try to finish that day. Make sure you have prioritized your tasks.

After that write down what would make a today great. For example, more sales than yesterday.

Then check your new habit and take action.

5) At nights

Schedule your to-do list (go back to the third step).

Then I like to write down three amazing things that happened today. That will help you to stay positive and focused because of a lot of times we are so busy that we miss out on good things that happened to us.

And then see if you completed your tasks. If not, write down a quick explanation of why you didn’t and how could you have made today better. I have found it to be one of the most important things to do because by doing it, you will find new leaks and will be able to get rid of them.

6) Each week

Every Sundays nigh, score your week from 1 to 10 (1 – it was a horrible week, 10 – the best week of your life).

See what you did accomplish and what not. Look at the big picture, do you see a common trend? Maybe you’re procrastinating? Why is that? What’s the thing you should get rid of? What should you do more?

Then define a new strategy and goal for the week.
