The 10X Rule: How to Develop a Good Work Ethic

How to develop a good work ethic?

We all know how hard it is to take action, right?

But if you don’t have a strong work ethic, there is no way you will succeed in life. As Grant Cardone said, ”Success is your duty, obligation, and responsibility.

But I know that you’re an action taker and a quick learner. So today I’m going to share five tips with you on how to improve your work ethic.

Let’s dive in.

How to Develop a Good Work Ethic:

Prepare the Night Before

7 Habits of Highly Successful People

If we’re on a point A and we have to get to the point B, we need a map, and we have to be prepared. Going somewhere without a direction will lead you nowhere. Abraham Lincoln said, ”Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax.”

How to develop a good work ethic? To develop a good work ethic, you must prepare. As the saying goes, ”Proper preparation prevents poor performance.” The guy or gal that’s the most prepared will win.

How many times have you woke up and being tired? That’s because you’re not sure what to do. The best way to solve this problem is to develop a plan the night before.

Take your planner and your to-do list and start scheduling. Prioritize tasks, and set deadlines. And when you wake up, take action.

Buy you can plan only that far…

Do-It-Now Mentality

H. Jackson Brown Jr. said, ”The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.”

It’s all about now. Now or never. Sometimes there is no next time, no time-outs, no second chances.

Let me ask you, how many times have you said ‘I’ll do it tomorrow,’ but the next day you have forgotten about it?

How to develop a good work ethic? You have to subscribe to the now mentality. Because tomorrow will be too late.

Do it now, no matter how it feels, and you will see massive results.

The 10X Rule

If you haven’t already read ‘The 10X Rule‘, now it’s the best time to do that. Remember the previous step? Now mentality? Get the book now!

The 10X rule in brief:
You have your goals. The next thing is to multiply your goals by 10. For example, if you want to earn $200K this year, then multiply it by 10 ($200,000 x 10 = $2,000,000). $2M is your new goal. And in order to achieve that, you have to take 10X actions.

As Grant said, ”Wake up! No one is going to save you. No one is going to take care of your family or your retirement. No one is going to “make things” work out for you. The only way to do so is to utilize every moment of every day at 10X levels.” And that’s so true.

If you have been following Tim Ferriss, you know that he’s all about working smart. But don’t fall into only work smart mentality. There are no great achievements achieved just by working four hours a week.

You have to take massive amounts of actions. If you think that you’re doing enough, do more, and I promise you, you will see amazing results. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen faster than you think.

”Never lower your target; increase your actions.”
– Grant Cardone

Cut Distractions

Winston S. Churchill said, ”You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.” We both know what distractions are. Just cut them

Throw your phone away and promise yourself not to look at it while you’re working.

Voice in your head is also a distraction. ”Oh, don’t do that, you will burn out. You will never make it. It’s impossible. Work smart.” That’s BS. If you’re obsessed with success, you won’t burn out. Cut that voice.

Family? ”Son, be grateful for what you have. We love you the way you are. Get a nice job.” Trust me they have their best interests, not yours. If they’re not helping you to achieve your goals, cut them.

Friends? Again, if they are distracting you from your goals, leave them. They don’t serve you.

How to develop a good work ethic? Eliminate all the distractions, and you will succeed.

Whatever It Takes

5 Tips to Help You Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking 5

”Do the things you want to do.” That’s not the right mentality. If you don’t do the things you don’t want to do, you’re not going to grow and succeed.

Grant Cardone said, ”Approach every situation with a whatever it takes mindset.” You have to do whatever it takes, whenever it takes, and you shouldn’t care what it takes. That’s the right mentality.

I hope I inspired you to take action. If you follow all of these steps listed above, your work ethic will improve, and you will achieve massive results.
